How it works
- 1
Upload
Take a photo of every page of your notice and answer a few questions.
- 2
Free check
We read the key details – company, dates, amount, wording – and look for possible grounds.
- 3
Appeal letter
If there are grounds, get a personalised appeal letter and next steps for £4.99.
What we check
- Whether the notice arrived in time and has the wording required to make the registered keeper liable (Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, England & Wales)
- Whether you should avoid saying who was driving
- Signage, grace periods, broken payment machines and other circumstances
- Which trade body the company belongs to (BPA or IPC) – this decides your independent appeal route (POPLA or IAS)
- Different rules if the ticket is from Scotland or Northern Ireland
Got a council Penalty Charge Notice instead? That's a different legal process – we'll tell you if we spot one, and you won't be charged.
Questions people ask
Is the check really free?
Yes. Uploading your notice and seeing the possible grounds is free, with no sign-up and no card. You only pay if we find possible grounds and you choose to buy the personalised appeal letter.
Do you store my photos or details?
No. Your photos and answers are processed in memory to produce your result and then discarded. Your results stay only in your own browser tab. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see your card details.
Is this legal advice?
No. We're a self-help tool, not a law firm. We highlight possible grounds based on the rules for UK private parking charges, but we can't guarantee an appeal will succeed. Always check your letter is accurate before sending it.
Does it work for council parking tickets?
Our check is for private Parking Charge Notices. If you upload a council Penalty Charge Notice, we'll tell you, explain the different process, and won't charge you.
What if no grounds are found?
We'll tell you honestly and you won't be asked to pay. Paying the reduced amount within the deadline is sometimes the cheapest option, but you can still write to the operator yourself about any circumstances.
Can I upload a PDF?
Yes. If your notice came by email, upload the PDF (up to 3MB). Otherwise take clear photos of every page, up to 4.
Do I have to say who was driving?
No. You don't have to tell a private parking company who was driving. Our letters are written from the registered keeper and don't identify the driver.
